Vizio doubles down on Windows 8 at CES (video) - humphreysedgerhy
LAS VEGAS— It?s a little odd to see Vizio—a troupe formerly known primarily for making cut-rate LCD TVs—take a shot at the tablet market. Only the company made good on the promise of a unimportant, hefty ultraportable with its Thin + Light laptops last twelvemonth, and its other 11.6-inch MT11x tablet looks even as auspicious.
At roughly half an inch thick and advisement a little subordinate two pounds, the MT11x sports a little-HDMI port, 64GB homogenous-state drive, and an AMD Z-60 C.P.U. for kicking Radeon HD graphics out to an external display. We lav't be sure about battery life until we get the gimmick into our lab for some difficult testing, but the Vizio MT11x runs Windows 8 swimmingly and continues Vizio's legacy of producing appealing products with completely forgettable names.
Vizio is also refreshing their Thin + Light-duty line of ultraportables, adding touchscreens to their 14-inch and 15.6-inch laptops and rechristening them as Gossamer + Light Touch notebooks. The spick-and-span models retain their glossy intention and pop the question the promise of better battery liveliness than last year?s clip of Thin + Light laptops. The 15.6-inch Vizio notebooks ship with a 1920 by 1080 screen, piece their 14-inch siblings skylark 1600 by 900 displays.
If you'd rather tap happening something a little more stable, Vizio is also exhibit unsatisfactory its updated 24-inch and 27-inch affect-capable All-In-Peerless desktop PCs in a hotel suite far from the CES show floor. They look corking also, with a streamlined Apple-inspired silver chassis and brilliant 1080p displays. Both models gang a subwoofer, remote master, and a twain of HDMI inputs for home base theater aficionados. You'll also have the option to outfit the 24-inch theoretical account with either an AMD or Intel Central processing unit, and both models will ship with Windows 8. The absence of a multitouch-capable touchscreen and touchpad on last year's model of Vizio All-in-Unrivalled was one of our biggest complaints, so IT's exciting to see this nascent Microcomputer vendor embracing Windows 8 and touch control with much to-do. No word yet on how much these products will cost, simply we expect to date them happening sale this spring.
